2024 Presidential Election: Twilight Zone Reality (published 6-25-2024; article #481)

Introduction

A much-needed rain came about 10 PM, on Sunday, 6/23/2024. Soaking rain continued overnight. Drifting off to sleep while listening to the rain led to a great night's sleep. We needed the rain. The last rain, a 15-minute pop-up storm, was late in the afternoon on Sunday, 6/9/2024.

Blaming it on the rain, I had one of those alternative reality dreams. You know. It's when you dream that you are living in another dimension and on a different timeline.

The Alternative Reality

What did I dream? I'm glad that you asked. I dreamed that two major opposition candidates were running for president in the November 5, 2024, election.

The Republican, born with a silver spoon and who was once a Democrat, is a billionaire real estate tycoon and a former reality television star. An older brother died, at 43, from alcohol addiction. He is three times married and twice divorced. He was a media darling. From January 20, 2017, to January 20, 2021, he served as the 45th President of the United States. As president, he accomplished some good, especially on border security, court appointments, and the economy. His election was better than if the opposition candidate had won. The media started hating him.

This 45th President is running to become the 47th President of the United States. On May 30, 2024, he became the first former president to be convicted of a felony. He was convicted on 34 felony counts that involved falsifying business records related to a 2016 “hush-money” payment to an adult-film star, who claimed that he committed adultery with her in 2006.

Are you glad that this was just a dream? It couldn't be real. There was more to my dream.

The Democrat, born of humble beginnings, soon became a career politician. He is now the current 46th President of the United States. Earlier in life, he remarried, after the tragic deaths of his first wife and their daughter. He overcame a life-threatening medical condition, as I have. (See the 17 articles in the topic My Bionic Life - since 3/29/2016.) Another sadness was when his son died at 46 from brain cancer. As president, this former senator and vice president has continued his policy agenda, which stems from an unbiblical and socialistic worldview. For the life of me, I can't think of one good thing that this man has done as the 46th President. Well, he made one statement that I liked. Once, replying to a reporter's question, he said, “Come on, man. . . . Are you a junkie?” I must admit that I have used that phrase a few times since August 2020!

Wake up! That dream can't be reality!

The True Reality

Yesterday morning, I awakened from my dream. That was no dream! It's the reality in this banana republic, which was once a great nation!

The 2024 presidential election is on Tuesday, November 5, which, by the way, is two days after “guvrmint” time ends. The Republican candidate is Donald John Trump, the 45th President, who has a felony conviction. The incumbent Democrat candidate, the 46th President, is Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., the candidate with a poor memory and possible dementia, whose son is a convicted felon.

Donald Trump, born on 6/14/1946, is 78. Joe Biden, born on 11/20/1942, is 81. According to "Age at Inauguration,” POTUS: Presidents of the United States, by Robert S. Summers, President Biden, at 78, is the oldest at inauguration. Former President Trump, sworn in at age 70, was the second oldest at his inauguration. President Ronald Reagan, the 40th president, was the third oldest, at age 69. At 42, Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president, was the youngest at his inauguration. The average age at the presidential inauguration is 55.

In almost 250 years of American history, this is the first time that a former president has been convicted of a felony. It is also the first time that an adult child of a sitting president has been convicted of a felony.

The first of two televised presidential candidate debates will be on Thursday, June 27. I think that I'll watch it. It should be entertaining.

Conclusion

The television series “The Twilight Zone” aired from 1959 to 1964. Rod Serling introduced each episode. One of his introductions was:

You're traveling through another dimension -- a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind -- a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are those of imagination. That's the signpost up ahead -- your next stop, the Twilight Zone.

This 70th entry in the "poly-ticks" (Greek πολλά, many, and ticks, blood suckers) topic section is finished. USA Today: 2024 Presidential Election Voter Guide shows Trump as the sole Republican candidate. Biden, the Democrat candidate, has a token challenger. The three third-party candidates are not worthy of anyone's time or consideration. The candidates' positions on “key issues” are included in the voter guide.

The 6/10/2024 article concluded that President Biden is no President Reagan. Former President Trump is no President Reagan. For whom will I vote on November 5th? I may vote for myself as a write-in. Trump will win Tennessee.
